The Patriots have neither a state name nor a city name in their team's official name, and they've managed to do okay, haha!

If you want to see incredibly high concentration smokers (that cannot afford to gamble), I highly recommend Desert Diamond Casino. I was in that casino for 2 minutes. I grabbed a free soda and bolted before my clothes stunk even more.
The one there now is called Low Key Piano bar, probably the same as SD and MPLS.

Yes, the current DD Casino is bad, that was a temporary 35K square foot space until all of the lawsuits were finally settled. The $400 million dollar Phase 1 of the DDC is mainly a new 75,000 square foot permanent casino which I hope will similar ventilation to TSR which helps tremendously with the smoke. Phase 2 will include a resort and hotel.

Lol, I always wondered why GRA and SFS are out in BFE.
In a way I can see why the Cardinals are away from an urban center, they need a big stadium for the extra capacity. The New England Patriots are in Foxboro and lots of other NFL stadiums are kind of out in the middle of nowhere too.
I agree it's a pain to drive to for a lot of people, and Glendale doesn't offer too much around there other than Westgate itself. It's kind of a blah place.

You bring up a good point. Calling them the Boston Patriots and moving them from Foxborough to Boston would not make people more loyal or the team more successful. Talk about BFE, Foxborough population is 16,000 and a 45 minutes away from Boston.

I disagree. The average person a couple of states away from here doesn't know Phoenix from Tucson from Yuma, unless they have some sort of connection here. Television coverage doesn't help much either. I have seen several nationally broadcast Cardinals or Diamondbacks games where they show pictures of the Grand Canyon when they cut to commercial.

Phoenix is one of the few cities with all four major sports franchises, which I think is a great benefit, but nobody would know it with practically everything being "Arizona this" and "Arizona that".

As far as stadiums being built in different locations: Westgate was a huge mistake, largely because of the location, but there are other factors behind it. At this point, there's not much we can do about relocating Westgate to a better area ... unless Glendale decides to completely cut the strings, allow Westgate to go under again, and somehow force the Cards & Coyotes to move elsewhere. That's not going to happen in the foreseeable future. But compare the ridiculous location of Westgate to the locations of the new facilities in Vegas and L.A. They had much better planning and organization than we did: close to major airports and existing infrastructure already in place, among other things.

Have you taken a serious look at the area around Westgate? It's pathetic. A huge sports & entertainment complex sitting in the middle of farm land and miles of vacant dirt lots. First of all, it's completely retarded to build something like this so far away from established infrastructure. Second of all, forcing taxpayers to foot the bill for this endeavor is even more retarded. If Westgate was truly successful on its own, there should have been numerous retail, hotel, office, and residential development surrounding it by now (which was in the initial plans).
East Rutherford Giants
East Rutherford Jets...…….?

Well I guess that's not really helping either, since a recent study showed 57 percent of Americans don’t know what state the Grand Canyon resides in!

So they might as well just show the Phoenix skyline.

Majority of Americans Don't Know Where the Grand Canyon Is

I think the state name actually works quite well in Minnesota due do to having the Twin Cities.

The Minneapolis Twins, the Minneapolis Vikings, the Minneapolis Timberwolves and the St. Paul Wild, just don't sound as good as just using Minnesota!

Sometimes you can't fix stupid. But they ARE the Arizona Cardinals. So it makes sense to show the Grand Canyon. Why not? Saying that, if you want to change the name to the Phoenix Cardinals, realize the cardinal bird hangs out in Southeastern Arizona. So if you want to keep the Cardinal name and be more specific on the region, call the team Coronado National Forest Cardinals and move the team south of Tucson.
