All of this talk about hockey caused me to look at Stubhub for tonight's game.

Does anybody have any experience what tickets go (scalping before the game) versus Stubhub?

I'm not a structural engineer, and yes, with enough money anything is possible, but going from a basketball specific arena to a multi-use arena for both hockey and basketball, with no obstructed view seats for hockey, would be quite interesting.

It would probably just be cheaper to build a brand new arena for both teams to share across the street where the Convention Center South is, then retrofit the current arena!

Think about it, you already have an 8-sided shaped arena, you would need to basically remove an entire end/third of the building to push back the upper seating arena, so they could see both ends of the hockey rink clearly.

I was shocked when the Islanders decided to move to the Barclay's Center, which is basketball specific. I realized their old home, the Nassau Coliseum, needed to be replaced, but they ended up with the same situation the Yotes had in American West with one end of seats in the upperdeck having an obstructed view.

Now the Islanders are finally building their own new arena near Belmont Park Racetrack on Long Island.

I would guess it depends on who they are playing...

However, on a recent trip to visit my in-laws in a rural part of the Midwest I can tell you hunting dominated every conversation.

Maybe that is why Las Vegas and Phoenix are doing to well in the NHL standings. Deep down, who wants to live in Canada (or MN or MI or Buffalo) during the winter?

Could you give me an example of top end free agents in hockey or basketball who have signed in AZ? I'm not that familiar with football or baseball.

Back to the topic: below is how the new Allegiant Stadium in Vegas will look like when it's done, and notice the LOCATION: near Mandalay Bay, the south Strip, and the airport. Not quite a central location, but still a much smarter choice for a major sports venue than where Westgate is!
