Where would you consider Phoenix's Strip to be? I cant how you can compare Phoenix to Vegas in any meaningful way.

Phoenix is comparable to Vegas in many ways, except Vegas is internationally known for casinos, nightlife, and entertainment. The difference is: Phoenix is still a larger city, but it certainly doesn't act like it in a lot of ways ... sports being one of them. Also, Vegas is an infant in the pro sports category compared to Phoenix, but they already know how to do things much more effectively and intelligently in this regard.

Both are a driving culture for residents but only one has a real central area where most action occurs.

Here's something you may not know: the "central area" of Vegas (being their downtown) doesn't have a great deal to offer, except a few older hotels & casinos, and of course Fremont Street. A lot of the Strip where the action is, which many people consider the heart of Las Vegas, isn't even in the city limits. So my point is that the new Raiders stadium isn't centrally located, but it at least has existing infrastructure surrounding it, and is close to their airport & the attractions.

Phoenix has a defined central area (downtown & the Central Corridor), and Tempe has developed a decent sized urban landscape in recent years, despite the fact that it's still considered to be a suburb. A sports complex between downtown Phoenix & Tempe would be a much more ideal location than out in exurban land, or on a reservation. In fact, the original planned site for the Cards stadium in the early 2000s was at Priest & Washington near the Phoenix/Tempe border ... until the overly intrusive FAA had to step in. Even so, there are still better choices than where it is now. The financial mess that was created as a result of Westgate's location would likely have never happened!

Closed due to WAY off topic posts and bickering. Forum's rules, not mine. Stick to the topic. Take the lib vs. conservative stuff to the Politics board. Thanks.
