I did not enjoy the week long headache the storms brought last week. Another weather system is reportedly heading this way for early in the week and, yep, headache is back. Between headaches every time it rains (not to mention the stench of the rain) and year long allergies, both of which manifested when I moved to Phoenix and were never an issue before, I am seriously considering somewhere else to live! At least my house should sell quickly.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we need the rain. But I don't have to like it!

Where are you going to move that's drier? Yuma? Las Vegas?

Las Vegas always was my original desired destination so it's definitely being considered. I have zero allergies when I am there and the rain doesn't have the stench it does here

Past three days have been amazing. Official Phoenix highs were 83,83,81. This is very unusual.

During the five previous Julys there were a total of seven days with highs less than 100...

July 2020: 98
July 2019: 97
July 2018: 98
July 2017: 99,90,99
July 2016: 98

The rain was crazy! We drove in from LA and saw several bad wrecks on the 10 west of Phoenix. There was a car overturned in a ditch, and we ended up getting off on 339th and took back roads down through Buckeye (some were flooded or covered with little rocks and dirt) because there was a massive wreck around Watson.

Desert Rain smell is really strange! I would not buy that candle.

Rain has a "stench" in many places including your former state of Iowa. People can easily smell petrichor/geosmin in combination with ozone (three parts of Oxygen). Last night, I could smell rain was coming here in Northern, MN.

We all have different sniffers. To me the rain smells here too. I’m originally from the northeast and the rain there smells different and good, here not so much. Maybe it’s what we are used to.
