I've never seen any out-of-town newspaper sold here other than the New York Times. How about the Washington Post? Or considering how many Californians are here, how about the Los Angeles Times?

Have you ever seen them around?

Not recently. Even the venerable Out of Town News store in Cambridge MA, which sold papers from all over the world, has gone out of business. Most people wanting to read a paper like the Washington Post or the LA Times subscribe online.

Newsstands. Before the internet came along, god I loved those places. But the last time I was in one was probably about 25 or 30 years ago. I think they have gone the way of one hour photo labs and video rental shops. Good luck finding one, and if you do, don't expect it to be around much longer. I don't even think newspapers will be around much longer. They are all a shell of their former selves.

If anybody still sells papers, it's them.

Wait, you're telling me a printed newspaper is still a thing?

All joking aside, I used to see these occasionally at Frys and Bashas, I think primarily NY Times and LA Times and maybe Chicago Tribune? But it's been a number of years, I have not seen anything lately.

Most people in 2022 just go to washingtonpost.com or latimes.com. It's much easier and safer than driving around town burning all those fossil fuels into our delicate ecosystem.

Exactly. An iconic hub of a place in Harvard Sq. can't afford to compete with the internet and the OP wonders why some guy on a street corner in Phoenix can't afford to stock out of town newspapers?
Next up, where have all the damn soda jerks gone?
