We are looking to retire in Anthem at Merrill Ranch, but want peace and quiet along with use of the gym. With all the kids and families, is this even practical there? I do not want to be surrounded by kids...is this feasible?

We spent several hours in the community. Our observations were all 45 foot wide lots,
very narrow. the community center is 80% basketball and volleyball courts, which told us it is geared for kids.

We are looking elsewhere.

Question Sun City at Merrill Ranch?

Is there a Sun City at Merrill Ranch?

That would seem practical seeing as how the other "Sun City" communities do not allow kids...

Yes there is. Very nice models. They have their own center for the Sun City side, although we didn't visit it and I have no idea what it has to offer. The deal breaker for us (besides still being a couple years too young, was no walls dividing the lots. We aren't willing to give up the privacy of a back yard, not to mention with 4 dogs it couldn't work.

This lack of privacy would be a deal breaker for us too. I have no interest in Queen Creek for many reasons, but this would be close to the top of my list for not going there.

Exclamation Wall/fence option

I think the putting up a wall/fence is an option the homeowner has...

At least that is what I've seen in other Sun Cities in the Phoenix area.
