The family and I are leaving shortly for Phoenix, I will be working for the Madison School District. How is this area? We were originally looking to live in the outside of the city but are now thinking it might be better to be closer until we learn more about it. Are there affordable and acceptable accomodations available in this area?Is it safe? Are there apartment complexes/condos/duplexes or single family homes?Any ideas are appreciated.

I live within the Madison District and, for the most part, I have a high opinion of both the schools and the surrounding neighborhoods. There are all types of housing available, although the number of apartments available has gone down due to the condo conversion mania of a few years ago. Can you be more specific about some of the questions and concerns you have?
