Currently, in Ohio, I keep several music CD's which are not in cases,

stacked inside a little drawer which is right above my radio in my

Honda Civic.

When I am living in Arizona, I am wondering if they would still be safe

there of course because of the Hot Temps?

Can you keep anything safe in the car?

Nothing in my car, except for my chapstick has ever melted (but then, this happened to me in Seattle too). However, if you leave your CD's in DIRECT sunlight, they will warp, but not melt, LOL! Doesn't get that hot here.

As long as they are out of the direct sunlight you should be fine. I keep mine in my console and they are good.

yeah - keep them out of the sun and it's OK ........ things that are more liquid / gel based will melt ........ keep an eye on that chapstick, my wife ruined a pair of pants ..... we've had pictures get ruined - candles lose shape, some things like that

mainly in our first summer here where it was a little hotter than average and we were learning ............ definitely get some tint put in and be careful of any metal components in your car when you get back into it

Keep them out of direct sunlight!

Put them in glovebox or center console if big enough!

Boblee, did you ever end up finding a place? I recall you were having issues finding a place.

I've had problems playing MP3s burned onto CD-Rs after they've been in the heat for a few months. No problem, since all I need to do re-burn the disc. Otherwise, I've never had any issues with "pressed" (as oppsed to "burned") discs.
