the McDonald's that just opened in Maricopa had over 100 applicants in an 8 hour span. I'm sure the Walmart with have more applicants when they start taking them.

I noticed that the McDonalds, Wendy's, and Taco Bell near old town Scottsdale on or off of Scottsdale Blvd all were looking for people and paying $8.00 an hour. No one to fill these kind of jobs I guess. Maybe at the Hotell that has room rated in the $500 a night range offer the kind of place where an employee can make great tips. In that event I could see lots of people trying to get those jobs. Not my sort of thing so it does nothing for me, but is a thought. What do you think?

Crescent Crown Distributing in Surprise will employ up to 500 people when it fully opens. 250 by March of next year then up to 250 more...

From Az central: Most jobs expected to be warehouse positions paying $15 to $20 an hour. A few would be higher-paying management positions.

That's awesome news since my house is like four minutes from where they said they were going to build this. We have our second set of renters, and they've been really late with the mortgage three of four of the months they've been there. I hope more jobs come to Surprise!

This isn't surprising at all given that W Hotels has international recognition and pays employees well. Applicants were, without a doubt, from many cities, states, countries, etc.

Read the comments after the article...too funny. We "hang out" in Scottsdale on occasion and find it incredibly pretentious at times. It's OK, cuz most of the time our "servers" are exceptional. Yep, some of the servers were pretentious. The tips we gave were appropriate.

Hmm that sounds about right. Anyone can do these hotel jobs. Basically all you need is physical labor that is it. There is an abundance of that which is why most of these mcjobs pay next to nothing. All the real jobs require you to have specific skills, experience and education all of which is difficult to find hence higher pay.

When most of the IT jobs that require education, skill and aptitude, don't pay that well in Phoenix area, I seriously doubt the warehouse jobs will pay anywhere near that much!

I don't know anyone in Phoenix whose career is IT that makes an hourly wage. Most make salaries that exceed $26 to $40 an hour if broken down in such a way; more for experienced workers of course. Maybe you mean database entry? We have a few younger individuals in our office making more than 15 an hour doing nothing more than answering the phone and saying hello to people at the front desk.
