Is there anything left of Legend City? I really dont know how a theme park would work in AZ. Summer is the height of the tourist season for theme parks, but it doesnt work well in the Valley, at least. Late fall, Winter, early spring would be awesome theme park time in AZ, but how many families would be willing to take kids out of school to visit a theme park for a week?

I don't think there are any. Which is a bummer because if you want to take the family to a theme park you have to fly somewhere, and airline tickets are not cheap these days. I often wondered why there are no theme parks here, and I would venture to say the reason is the extreme heat and the sun beating down on the metal all day. Unless they built a park indoors, it just wouldn't work here.

the only rollercoaster in the Valley iis Castles and Coasters @ Metrocenter. Its small only a couple rides/mini golf/and videos games. Great place to take the kids to play.

Themes parks coming to Arizona:
Mesa: Waveyard : Unleash. Dream. Go!
Eloy: DECADES Music Theme Park: Eloy, Arizona

There were a couple planned for Williams and Florence, one a Six Flags, but I don't think those are moving forward.

None are moving forward with conditions in the country as they are today. My bet is that none of these current proposals get built. People have promised these before and all the hullaballoo about building a theme park, and then the projects suddenly disappear shortly after.
California, especially the coastal areas, is ideal for year round theme parks, AZ is not.

The two parks above are already funded, approved by the legislature and are moving forward with construction. The Waveyard will open in 2010, and Decades is scheduled to open in 2013. Hopefully by 2010 and 2013 our national and global economy will rebound. Arizona is an ideal location for a theme park, being much cheaper than Cali, less polluted, less crowded, easier access for tourist from around the world, and a temperate and tolerable climate for 9 months of the year in the mid to high desert locales like Phoenix.

Actually I'm not holding my breath. Too many things can happen to change all the plans. It's happened before. It's not unusual for these type of things to start and end up as white elephants.
I'll believe it when they start selling tickets on opening day.

I for one am very much looking foreward to the rock and roll theme park. The proposed south west theme park not so much to clischay. The Water Park well IDK we have a lot of those allready so it better be something truly wild and off the hook to catch one attention.
