I have been going on the Web quite a bit exploring my new home city and all it has to offer. Lots of cool sections of Phoenix that I haven't been to yet, but they all have something to offer.

Phoenix Neighborhoods, my faves so far ----------

For historic districts, I'm a big fan of Encanto, Willo, and Coronado. Outside of those, there are little pockets all around the city that I love. The area around 16th St/Bethany is a standout - lots of nice ranch homes and mature trees. 40th St/Campbell is also a winner.

Most of zip codes 85014 and 85012

Also Willow, Coronado, Encanto, Arcadia, the north central corridor.

Old Scottsdale especially the areas along Indian School and Camelback Rds heading toward Phoenix.

And parts of Ahwatukee.

I like Arcadia because it's a pretty quiet section, but still a reasonable commute to downtown & the Central Corridor. Also not too far from Scottsdale and Tempe. Arcadia is an established area, and very green/shady. A good share of the neighborhoods in Arcadia use irrigation.

Also, Camelback East is a nice section. It's not quite as upscale as the Biltmore area, but some have referred to it as the "Biltmore slums". Basically, the area along East Camelback starting at the 51 freeway east toward about 44th Street would encompass this section. That's my neighborhood. Very green, established, and close proximity to all the amenities.

I grew up in Arcadia. My favorite, hands down. Have you got any pics of the parts of it that haven't been torn down and rebuilt? Some of those old long low ranch houses still look great.

Yes, that's a very nice, upscale area. Many of these neighborhoods are located on the north side of Alhambra Village. A good share of the homes are easily priced in the millions for starters. I believe John McCain used to own a house in that section. These neighborhoods are also very green & shady because they are older. They're also much better constructed than the newer cookie cutter subdivisions.

Another one of my favorite Phoenix neighborhoods that might have been mentioned previously is Palmcroft ... which is near Encanto. Palmcroft has similarities to the north Central/northern Alhambra Village area: lots of older pricey homes in close proximity to downtown/uptown Phoenix, and all the shade & greenery you could ask for. Beautiful!
