Thanks for the info and link, fcorrales! Sounds great...and as my inspection went really well, it looks like I'm going to be living there soon(pending a weird address problem in which the city has the correct address and the county and post office have the wrong one...oops!...seller needs to get it done, though, or no sale as part of the contract).

Regarding the pay-for-reporting-vandals(if caught): You know what, they wouldn't even have to pay me to do it! lol. In fact, I have this crazy fantasy of doing a vigilante stake-out on the rooftops of those businesses and shooting paintballs at the perps as they do the dirty deed. lol. Imagine the shock and poetic justice when they realize that they are the ones being painted! Heh...maybe Uncle Joe could even borrow this idea as his next cheesy publicity stunt.

The Coronado district that I'm familiar with contains many tree lined streets and plenty of well kept green lawns, as shown in some of the above photos. South of there is where it starts becoming a little less attractive. Many older neighborhoods can be found south of McDowell, but not always in the best condition. I remember a section west of 16th Street near the I10 freeway that almost put me in mind of an Archie Bunkerish type of neighborhood ... only a little bit more rough around the edges.
