I'm a dentist and have seen MANY patients with work done in Mexico that needs to be replaced. Every now and then I'll see a great piece of work that leaves me surprised when I'm told it was done in Mexico, but usually I'm not all surprised that I have to redo Mexican work.

But the bottom line for me is that much of what is done simply isn't ethical. People getting dental implants when they don't qualify for them, or getting full-mouth bridges when their remaining teeth can't support them. Sad stuff and many people seeking a deal aren't just getting shotty work--they are getting taken advantage of.

My two cents.

Actually, I don't want to steal your thread so sorry in advance. But does anybody have recommendations for good dentists and doctors? I will be moving there in June and my two front teeth are fake. Both partially (gotta love hockey as a kid) and will need work done. If anyone has dentists that are very good please let me know! If they are a bit pricey its fine if they are not but are good even better! It is my two front teeth so they cant be jacked up so I am willing to go the extra mile for them to look good.

For you parents make sure your kids wear mouth guards, this stinks being 22 and having to worry about your two front teeth! I was always the joke at christmas time because all I wanted were my two front teeth... but really...

Dental clinic in chiangmai Thailand services by specialist. Way better than the Mexican Dentist. It's very far, though. I was told that the implant post has become much smaller and with the use of an MRI machine, they can do a good implant for about 2000.

For 60,000 frequent flyer miles (UAL)' they will bring you within 3 miles of the clinic for almost free.

So I spend how many thousands of dollars to fly to T or a grand to go to Mexico to stay in a luxury resort while I get a cheap root canal? Does not make much sense to me unless you walk there. I think I will stick to the US trained docs thanks.

Why would anyone want to go outside the USA for medical or dental work? We have the best doctors and dentists in the world and their prices are so reasonable! Everyone who really wants care can get it, especially if they have a good job. What people need to do is buy good health- and dental insurance, but just don't overuse it for things they don't really need, like too many root canals, etc. People could spend less on other things and more on insurance, and that would solve all our problems. ha ha ha ha ha ha People should just be willing to look for a job and go to work. Tee hee ho ho ha ha ha!

I think my dentist is little more than a used car salesman with an expensive degree and he's local to me. There are countless stories here about dentists selling unnecessary procedures to new patients.

Just a guess, but it seems you might have the anesthesia already covered for any dental or medical procedure "POPPYSEAD"! That sure would save you a lot of money!
