Well, you can keep squabbling about Chez Nous, but as far as I know, it's closed. Issues with the liquor license. Last update I saw in New Times was early April, it was still closed, and they described what was first announced as a "temporary" closure as looking "pretty permanent".

So, to the OP, try out some of the others that were suggested. Hope you find a good time!

I was told it reopened...I check it out tonight. I did hear about licensing issues but Phoenix is usually quick to resolve such matters. Hmmmm, if so I would suggest Char's of Rhythm Room next. Bobbie C's would be the next and its near a light rail stop and easy to get too. And let me tell you, some good looking men are to be found there!

It's not a Phoenix issue, it's a state licensing issue. New Times had been updating on the status, but it could have reopened recently.

Isn't it BOBBY C's? Is that the place at 12th St and Washington?

Are you sure it was the state? I thought there was a Phoenix liquor sign on the place when it was closed. You have to be approved to serve alcohol by the State and the City of Phoenix Licensing Department...but either way its a license. And I'm not sure if it's Bobby C's or Bobbie C's but it's a Bobbie one way or the other.
