Is there anyone out there in need of a roommate starting around 8/1/09? I will be moving from Chicago to Tempe for grad school. Can anyone give me advice on the area? Can anyone give me a hand with this? Are there any reputable rental agencies out there that will roommate match for me?

OP asked if there are folks needing roommate- I am sure there are, but try to find one on this forum would be a tad hard. I have seen peeps looking to rent to others; none looking to rent from. His/her best bet is try locate one on sites like Craig's List. With careful screening s/he might find one that fits. If not, s/he might need to look at locate paper. I know some Realtor help with apartment search, but I do not know any would do roommate search.

Google "roommate finders Tempe" Looks like there are some folks who do that sort of thing.

I also tried "Arizona State University roommate search" and got a couple of hits to sites that help with that.

NBauer, maybe the ASU housing office can help you directly, or at least point you to the websites with the best listings. I would have thought craigslist too, but maybe ASUers have some other way to find roomies. Good luck and enjoy grad school in the desert!

Also try roommates.com; when I was in school I found two roommates on this site and we are friends to this day. It is easier to screen potentials on such a site.
