Hi, I got a job transfer to Phoenix. My work place is close to Arizona Biltmore country club. I'm wondering where would be the safe area and easy commute for a single women. I'm looking for a decent 1-bedroom apartment under $1000 a month. Thank you

That entire area east and west of that location are not bad areas. I would recommend checking apartment rating.

I wish I could remember the name of them, but there are some awesome, really nice apartments just east of 16th street and Northern. They are between 16st and the Squaw Peak 51 on the right hand side. They are a little over 3 miles from Missouri and 24st at most.

Well, no, they are in Phoenix, not exactly in high rise areas, but still in the city.
I don't know what you mean by a "suburb area". If you want to live in one of the suburban cities, you are looking at a bigger commute.

What suburb are you referring to? Personally, I would want to be in a 10 mile radius from work.

having lived in central Phoenix for years, I'm at a loss. Anywhere is going to have sirens and traffic noise. Now if you mean not next door to a noisy bar, I'd look along Missouri west of 24th street, perhaps in some of the older condo complexes. Colter west of 16th street has declined, wouldn't go there. Or perhaps east on Camelback towards 32nd, 40th streets, but stay north of Indian School imo.
A gated, 24hr security patrol complex is Fountains in the Green on 14th street, north of Thomas. Don't judge it by the area 2 blocks away, 16th and Thomas. FITG is hidden back in a historic district and is a hop skip and jump from Phoenix Country Club, Jerry C's house and Manor Drive. Lived there twice, 3 years total, never a problem. Plus utilities are paid....free free free a/c. woohoo.

I'd stay very close to your work area, there in the Missouri, 24th, 16th, 32nd, Camelback areas....it's a well-established, stable, respected, tree-sy area.....lots of choices for living options.....it won't be free of city noise as it's in a center city area, but it's a nice spot....

suburban it's not, but commute-avoidance is a nice thing if you can work and live in this Biltmore area.....
