Good hairdresser for cuts and highlights in NE Phoenix/Scottsdale (salons, school)

Hi,

I like my hairdresser she is great- been going to her for 4 years even though it's a 30 minute drive each way but I'm thinking I may have to switch at some point if I'm working M-F since she doesn't work on Saturdays.
Any of you have a great hairdresser who is great with cuts and dramatic highlights in NE phoenix/N. Scottsdale area that you would recommend?
Would be nice to see if anyone has any recommendations, should I have to find a new hairdresser. Not extremely pricy either, I know some of these salons in scottsdale charge an arm and a leg.
I pay $40 for cut and $110 for cut and highlights.

Rolf's Salon, in Gainey Village, is very good and has lots of good stylists - though my favorite is Emma. She's not too expensive, either.

I forgot the name, but my sister goes to a training or cosmetology school somewhere near Thunderbird and Scottsdale that I planned to checkout next time I go (which will be soon so thanks for the reminder lol). They always do an excellent job, cheap, and because they are learning, they "care" and pay more attention than "some" more experienced stylists. She swears by it. Just doing a quick google, this must be it. I don't remember her mentioning they did spa too. ;-)

Mirage Hair Company is great and the price will be very similar to what you're paying now. They are open on Saturdays and even evenings by appt. They are at Shea and 101.

Both of these salons would be in your price range (Etch is full-service, Sandoval is hair only):

Salon Sandoval (This is probably one of the few places where I would say that you could see anyone and could be confident in the final result; they are all pros and use only Aveda products)

I've had a couple of unfortunate experiences where my hair was overprocessed since I moved to Arizona (at Tru and Salon Surreal). Now, I go and check the place out before I make an appointment.

I agree that Rolf's Salon in Gainey Village is the place to go. Faye is a great stylist at that location and she should be in your budget.
