Any of you remember going to Thrifty's back in the day to get an ice cream cone? I grew up in S. California and I remember going to Thrifty's for ice cream as a child- it was the best ice cream ever

I guess Arizona had Thrifty's back in the day as well?

I hear that some of the Purified Water & Ice locations in the valley have Thrifty's ice cream The one in Fountain Hills atleast does according to their website. Fountain Hills Water & Ice -* Water Delivery in Fountain Hills, Arizona

I may have to go there once to bring back those fond memories!

Most of the water stores around Goodyear have Thrifty Ice Cream. We stop by for a Pistachio Ice Cream Cone on a regular basis. I also remember trips to Thrifty for Ice Cream back in the day.

I went to the Thrifty's on McDowell and 44th all the time for ice cream. There was a Baskin Robbin's in the same strip mall, but I loved them both.

I used to go to the Thrifty's on 35th ave and Cactus. At the time, they had single, double, and triple scoop cones starting at 35 cents for the single. It looks like the price has now more than tripled.

Heh! I used to go to the one at 35th and Cactus, too! There was also a pretty good pizza place right around the corner from it in the same shopping center but facing Cactus

Yep, that would be Antonio's. I used to go there for lunch when I was in high school. I do not think they around anymore either.

my family moved to Arizona in June of 1975....we stopped at the Safeway and Thrifty on the NE corner of 32nd St and Cactus for last minute supplies before getting to the new place....I remember so many people going into the Thrifty and coming out with cones on that hot and dry June day.....

I think there's a dollar store and something else there now....can you imagine a Safeway and Thrifty in that little space?....
