I don't even leave my dog in the car.

It doesn't happen often, but I bring the pooch into the convenience store. Nobody's ever said a thing....

I doubt that anyone would say anything if ya brought children into the store either....

I bet your dog is better behaved than some of these kids would be.

I don't have kids so I can't really comment, but I wouldn't hesitate to say something or even call the cops if I saw a young child (under 4) in a vehicle.

I actually saw this happen one time at Arrowhead Mall. Well sort of...I was waiting for a friend out by the car and across from me a mother with 4 kids was unloading and getting ready to go into the mall. Well she got the stroller out and packed it with diaper bags etc and went for her purse and their drinks. One of her girls started walking towards the mall with the stroller and the mother was following. About a minute later someone walked by the van and started yelling into the van. I went over to check and the baby was inside! We were about to break a window away from the seats when the mother came out running, crying her eyes out and yelling; "my baby!" She unlocked the door and the lady that noticed the baby got him out of the car. The poor lady was FRANTIC and beside herself for forgetting. It was last July and hot, we felt bad for her but were like wow, that could have been terrible!

Yeah, that's exactly how it happens. We are so fast pace, bsy, too many things on our plates...it's easy to forget. I can see how it happens. It's a horrible tragedy. I personally have never done this, I was always over paranoid, even checking the back a few times before I went in to work, knowing I'd already taken my little one to daycare. It's scary. We all need to slow down a bit. Sometimes I'd just like to move to a farm in Missouri some where.
