You gotta love the "Arizona Pinstripes" you get from all the bushes and shrubs.

I have heard that the forest service has been working on the upper end that was so bad. They brought in heavy equipment and removed most of the troublesome rocks. So for some that is good and not so good for others. I always enjoyed that trail.

I like the Pleasant to Crown King road's technical aspect. If I want an easy trip, I can just go from I-17 through Bumble Bee.

Yep they stirred the pot big time by removing the hazards, it kept some from traveling the route. Now it will attract others and will result in more erosion and possibly trash and destruction in the area. Used to be journey to get from Pleasant up and around the backway into Morristown but have not been that way in years.

I am upset they removed the "obstacles" that many enjoyed climbing over, now we will have everyone out there, and you're 100% right, more erosion, trash, etc, will probably close the trail completley in the next few years I bet.

I don't have a truck capable of going out there anymore, I used to take my 78 Chevy truck out to Lake Pleasant almost every weekend, and would frequently take the trail up to get some lunch in Crown King, it was a fun trip.

Anyone got info on what I believe is called Castle Hot Springs? I see the large grassy fields and tons of palm trees but the place is deserted?

Well castle hot springs used to be the go to place several years ago. more available via a gogle search.
Castle Hot Springs l- Arizona Ghost Town
Way back in the late 1980's or so I responded while working for a local fire department. That was because some of the buildings were on fire. Needless to say because of the very remote location not much was left standing. I would think there is possibly a house with a swimming pool still there but probably behind a locked gate. Was a beautiful area last time I was back in there.

Here in Ca, the tree hugging libs keep trying take away more and more access to riding areas
The only experience I have had were people blocked off the trails was in Prescott. As for permits, I have never got one and have never known someone who has, I didn't even know about them.
