I realize this is an older thread but its helpful to people. I'm new to the area and finding doctors, has been a chore to say the least. Many were not taking new patients, on the waiting time was months away for an appt. I finally found one and then I had to see some specialist. I have noticed its not so much the doctors that cause discomfort. It is the office staff. They forget to do the type of bloodwork the doctor asked for. They leave all the pads on me after the EKG. They forget I'm in the room waiting for the doctor. Give me an appt on days the doctor is not at that office. THey forget he is at another office. So many of these employees (its not all of them) just so many do not seem professional. They make one mistake after another. Some are borderline rude and not helpful at all. They make you feel like you are imposing on them when you ask a question. I'm about ready to say. Look Miss I'm paying alot of money and thats an understandment to come to this office. Either do your job professionally or get another one. Actually I'm questioning how are these people getting jobs in these Medical jobs to begin with. To top it off I had 2 prescriptions to fill at Wahlgreens. When I got them home and looked at them. They had my names on them but the labels didn't pertain to the medicine in the bottle. Talk about a serious mistake that could take someones life witih that one. I mean I don't want to say these things can't happen anywhere. Its just I'm getting one after the other here in the Phoenix area. I can't help but wonder just what type of employee pool, do these employers have to hire from here.

I know these people are busy but like I said people pay so much to see a doctor.A better experience should come with the visit. This unprofessional behavior is concerning to me in this area. No offense but it seems many of the ones I encounted, really have little training or education in thier career choice.

I've never experienced anything remotely like this anywhere I've lived, including Phoenix. Nor have I had a problem finding doctors who accept new patients.

I left Phoenix in 2004, so things may have changed some, but I just had to post to say that the best primary care doctors I ever had were at the clinic across the street from Good Sam Hospital on McDowell. I can never remember the name of the clinic.
The doctors were great because they were all students who worked closely as a team under certified doctors. I enjoyed all the staff and got amazing care and call backs.

I like the doctor I have now, but sure miss the student doctors.
