Hi there,

I would like to know where in Palm Valley would be the place you could hear most the jets from the Luke Air Force?

Can you hear the noise around the Palm Valley community center? How bad it is in a scale from 1 to 10 (1=less noise, 10=huge noise)?

How often in the day they fly?

In which direction usually they would go?

How is Palm Valley community in general?

Thanks

You can pretty much hear the jets anywhere in Palm Valley and then some but the sound pretty much just comes and goes. We're about 12 miles away and I'll hear it every once in a while but I've never been "disturbed" by it. I think they usually head west but don't quote me on that; it just always looks like they are going that direction, which would make sense since east would be heading into town. I don't live in Palm Valley so I'm not going to give a rating. Personally, I think the jet sound is awesome.

Luke has a practice area to the North of the base near Wickenburg and the Gila Bend range to the SW. Luke is the largest F-16 training base in the world and they fly every day. Luke was opened in late 1941 and has been in use almost non stop since.

I live in Palm Valley. The jets fly from about 7:00am until as late as 10:00 at night. They are noisy when taking off and landing, but the noise is infrequent and not at all bothersome to me.

Palm Valley is a very nice area and I like living here.
