My wife and I are considering a move to Surprise and we will have a family member with us for at least 6 - 8 months, she is 17 and interested in whether or not she would have a hard time finding a job in retail (Target, Walmart, Ross, etc.)

I have heard finding a job can be tough there but does that hold true for these types of jobs?

I do not hink she will have a problem finding a job at any of the reatil outlets like Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Kohls, etc. Or she might consider some of the local resturants like Wendy's, MacDonalds or even Safeway, Stabucks, etc.

Depending on where you move in Surprise, there are some new shopping centers getting ready to open on the west end that will be looking for help.

Lot's of possibilities.

Sorry but I have to disagree because my daughter and son-in-law have both had a very hard time finding employment in those sectors. They both have had several years of experience working in retail, left the state and then came back and could only get part time work. My daughter also got a seasonal job at Walmart near Lake Pleasant and then was laid off after 3weeks because of poor sales at the store. She also found out that all the stores in the district were laying off because of poor sale and they over hired. Don't mean to be a wet blanket but there is the reality.
