What neighborhoods would you recommend visiting when it comes to different cultures and ethnic groups. I heard there was a chinatown. What about Hispanic?? Are there different types of hispanic neighborhoods like Guatemalan, Salvadoran or Mexican or ect?? Thanks

It is more of a shopping center than a "chinatown." At least a chinatown I think of.

Phoenix does not really have ethnic neighborhoods, except Hispanic (which is fairly large). There are a few ethnic resturants and stores, but that is about it.

We have a few "cowboy towns" if you consider that ethnicity.

Maryvale, Guadalupe. I don't know if this can properly be answered because PHX does not have ethnic neighborhoods like Chicago or the East Coast does. You are going to find Mexicans, Guatamaleans (sp), and other Latinos in every neighborhood. Are you looking for rocking awesome Mexican food?

I agree with this. we have some ethnic places dotted here and there, but there isn't one area where an ethnic group congregates. There are a few small time Italian restaurants, a few European grocery stores, I only know of one good polish deli, and other various culture foods here and there. Obviously there are Hispanic places all over.

The real "ethnicity" of phoenix metro is often overlooked. We are living in early 2000's Americana. newer sections of town show us exactly what our current ethnicity is, like it or not.

Think of it this way, in china there is no "china town". It's all china town. After a few generations immigrants assimilate to what Americana is. Most ethnic sections of cities were formed by people to have the familiarity of home. After a generation this is home....

No actually, you might. It just won't be the staged kind.
