Can anyone recommend a good tattoo parlor? Quality color and precision is important as far as the graphic goes. Clean and friendly place is important too.

black magic, it is on Shea and Scottsdale road, I guess that is not Phoenix, but they are amazing, real friendly, down to earth group of people. And great at what they do.

What type of work are you looking for? I know a few artists, and depdning on the style of tattoo (portrait, cartoon, detailed) I would recommend different shops.

Most of my work has been done at a small shop near 32nd St and Greenway, it's mostly cartoon style tattoos with great detail in the work.

I'd like to get two realistically rendered butterflies approximately 2" in diameter and in color done on my upper back.

For a tattoo that small, it would be hard to get a lot of detail in. Most tattoo shops can do work like this, since it's just a simple recreation of a living object.

My advice is to go around to a few shops, tell them what you want, and let them draw something up for you. Go back a few days later and see what they came up with, pick your favorite artist/drawing and go for it!

Those tattoos shouldn't cost more than $75 each, depending on the time it takes and detail/color involved.

Thanks Karma! I'll bring some pictures of the types of butterflies I'd like and see what they say. Can you recommend any shops for starters?

Immortal Art on Scottsdale and Shea is a good place to start IMO.

Immaculate in Mesa is easily the best shop out here. Karma is right, though, when he says most places can do work like you describe.

There are so many here, but I agree with Mesa, just because they did mine. lol Shouldn't have a problem here though, everyone has tats, we show a lot of skin here because of the long summers. lol
