Really, they are great prices! We looked at houses to buy just a few years ago, around 2006 when prices were much higher and the same houses in my same neighborhood now were in the low $400s and were over our budget. I am so glad we waited. I think this is a great time to buy. We love our house so much and the price was perfect!

You really did pick the perfect time to move to the Phoenix area. It's so dirt cheap, it's scary!

Yeah, I'm not sure if it has as great of a greenbelt system as Arden Park, but they do have greenbelts, and a park, and that park connects to Basha Elementary School.

The reason I brought up Fox Crossing is because it has many larger lots. Specifically, if you are on Alma School Road, turn East on Sandpiper Road and you are now in a part of the Ocotillo master plan called Ocotillo East. Continue East a few blocks and you will enter Fox Crossing, turn left on Locust, and to the left there will be 5 cul-de sacs with large homesites (some half acre+). Many of those homes in there have sportscourts in the backyards, as well as BBQ areas and pools/spa's, and they still have HUGE grassy areas as well. That was the specific area of Fox Crossing that I wasn't specific enough about. The rest of the subdivision is pretty normal, and then the SE edge is much smaller houses on very small lots, and that area borders Hamilton High School. I think anything down in that area is great, from Arden Park, Carino Estates, Ocotillo, Fulton Ranch, Pinelake Estates, etc., they are all great communities in a great location.

I think your strong desire for lots of trees and greenery is not good. You will probably end up not liking it here.
This is the desert.

Tomahawk, I know it's the desert. I visited Chandler last week, and, as I said, I find it beautiful in its own way. I think the hot, sunny desert aspect of the area is just great. I'm only looking for a place for my kids to continue the activities that are important to them. Just like if we were golf nuts we'd look for a golf community to live in. My boys have a critical need to run around in a somewhat open area. Without that they are truly bouncing off the walls! Since the yards in our price range are smaller in Arizona, a place near a little greenbelt or park will do. I'm not expecting to find a fifty-acre forest on my doorstep!

Thanks again asufan for the specific recommendations.
