DP Review does a 19 page comparison test of the 9 most current ultrazoom/superzoom cameras. Each camera is reviewed on the same factors:

"In our test we have looked at, and where possible analyzed, the cameras' performance, ergonomic, user friendliness, image stabilization systems and video capture capabilities, all of which may, depending on your preferences, be important criteria."

They are then rated on:

Image quality: outdoors / daylight
Image quality: Low light / High ISO
Image quality / performance: Flash

Use the drop down menu to see the individual performance of each camera in the test. The first link below is the intro page and the second link is the one to click on if you want to go straight to the conclusions page:

'Super Zoom' Camera Group Test (Q2 2010) Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review

LOL... the s90 always seems to be your answer no matter the question. I like my Canon 5DII and my my new Sigma 70mm Macro lens but for some strange reason they didn't include that one either. I think the article is slanted in some strange way.

BTW, I just picked up the FZ35 for my son which won joint honors along the Canon SX20. It's a sweet little point and shoot - super light, sharp images, great macros and nice zoom capability.

Just an FYI if anyone is thinking of picking one of these up, the FZ35/FZ38 is due for a refresh which normally is announced mid summer. I would have waited, but the FZ35 more than met my requirements. Plus I wanted to buy it in time for my son's BDay.

I'm monitoring Panasonic news releases waiting for the next FZ35 upgrade. I have one.

I don't think the Canon S90 is an ultrazoom since the ultrazoom criteria is 18x optical zoom or greater.

i got to play with a s90 my buddy just got and m so impressed with that s90... to me it represents just how far these little guys have come. the low light ability blew me away for a point and shoot, it shoots raw and has full manual capability...
all for 350.00 bucks.

know anyone who wants to buy about 10 grand in camera gear lol
