Those are some nice pictures. I think the framing is well done and you've managed to get some really good pictures of those deer. I don't know how common they are around you are, but it would be quite a sight around here.
The noise is especially nice for ISO 800--I was going to recommend you up the ISO and increase the shutter speed to eliminate some of the motion blur, but 800 is probably a good place to be. I don't know how the T2i works at ISO 1600, but it certainly looks nice at 800. Was that done with the 55-250?
yes it was the 55-250. their pretty common,we sit on the porch and watch them run thru the yard, every evening.
ill try your ideas,im a little lost when it comes to this camera,so i will take all the advice thrown my way
Good exposure, Granny. You might get slightly sharper shots by stopping down a bit to somewhere between F6.3 and F8, but of course you'd need to increase ISO or decrease shutter speed which is a slippery slope. Your shutterspeed of 1/800 was probably fine at that focal length. Unfortunately that lens is notorious for being fairly soft. So you might not ever be able to get them as sharp as you'd like. A good sharp zoom in that range would be the 70-200 F4 for example, and that runs about 5-times what the 55-250 goes for. Good glass is not cheap.
