I purchased a Prepaid Digiprints card from Ritz/Wolf camera a couple years ago. Recently, they told me the card was no good because of their "bankruptcy" and gave me a new card. The only problem was I got screwed out of 60 photographs. (I know it's not a lot of photos but it's more the principle of the matter; I'm sure the excecutives of the companies got all their money/salary/bonus). I wrote the company and received no reply hence this little post.
I heard about this some time ago. It's actually pretty typical in a bankruptcy (which Ritz did go through). They restructure, reorganize and with supervision of the court they can cancel some of their contractual commitments and creditors will not usually get 100 cents to the dollar (if the company could do that it wouldn't be bankrupt). I understand your frustration, but this is simply the way bankruptcy works. And of course, some people do believe bankruptcy is unethical. But the prepaid card issue is only as unethical as the bankruptcy system.
Yes, but I'm just sick and tired of "little guy" getting the shaft all the time and the corporations/corporate exucutives always seeming to make out in the end.
I'll never buy anything from that store/company the rest of my life (and I had planned to purchase a
high-power lens for my camera).
