Need advice. There will be a total lunar eclipse on August 28. According to USA Weekend, the full moon will darken and turn deep orange near dawn. The West Coast will be able to watch the entire eclipse. The further east you are, the more the eclipse's end will be cut off as the moon sets.
How should this be photographed for greatest effect? (I'm in the east)

A friend e mailed this to me:
Two moons on 27 August*
*27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for...*
Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August.
It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will
cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be
sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth
has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.
Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it
again
7th generation: That Mars thing is a hoax. Mars was closest to the earth several years ago. It NEVER appears as big as the Moon. It never gets closer than 34 million miles, and it's 4100 or so miles in diameter. It would have to be almost half as big as the Sun to appear that big!
Today is 2-20-2008. There is supposed to be an eclips tonight. Here in Wyoming, it's supposed to start at 8:01pm. With full eclips at around 8:26pm. Get your camera's ready!
