I lived in upstate NY and know a number of people who either worked there or are still employed there. Regardless of the reason(s) for the mess Kodak finds itself in, it really is a sad story for an American icon. Not to mention thousands of jobs could be lost.
Kodak is (was) to cameras what McD's is to fast food.

What a very sad day.
One of my in-law's uncles was George Eastman. The stories they told me about him! Eccentric, but a wonderful philanthropist. He grew up in Waterville NY. I still have a house not far from there. Farming country!
