Yep. I have LR3 that I picked up for $70 on a deal. If LR4 upgrades are worth it, I won't mind spending another $79 for it. Need to go play a little with trial.

the new seperate sliders on what was the recovery slider works really well.

the look is so much better than the results i would get on whites with lr3.

im still playing with it. one glitch i have is when using an external editor the photos loose their key wording and dont go back side by side with the origonal. i find them in "none " and have to re-keyword to get them back.

not everyone is having this issue but a small group of us seem to be.

there are also 2 processing engines in lr4. they use different default settings . 2010 uses the old settings ,2012 is the new. lr4 can pick the right one automatically by reading the metadata but you can manually change it yourself and see if you like the slightly different look.

Would PS or PSE count as external editors?

i had no interest in lightroom at all for years . i really like it as my filing system than i do an editor.

i still like the ease and speed i get with nikon nx2 as my raw editor. i have cs5 too but use it rarely as i dont need layers and masks with nx2 and find it far simpler. 90% of my editing is nx2

I've been using LR4 since beta. Oddly enough, I liked the beta version very much, but they have done some tweaking with the released version that I don't care for. I can't really put my finger on what is, just some of the sliders work a bit differently. That being said, it is an improvement over LR3.

I have CS5 also..........still in the box. Seriously though the PC I currently use can't handle heavy editing.
I use PE6 and rarely do I go into the full edit feature.
