Don't know most of the information regarding photography? (eg ISO). Whats the point when a couple can't look at a wedding photograph and comment on the lighting, angle..etc?

Its a Photography Paradox!!!! People hire expensive photographers due to the experience but in the end if they don't understand photography they will never see the difference in an image from a professional photographer due to their lack of detailed knowledge of photography and if they had knowledge of photography they would most likely go for a cheaper one!!!!!!

There are a lot of professionals people hire for a wedding. I wouldn't want to hire an amateur cake maker based solely on the fact that he can make a cake more cheaply, I would want the best looking and best tasting cake, just as these couples want their pictures to turn out as well as possible, taking advantage of the lighting, the angles, etc.

They might not know the differences in lighting and other equipment settings, but they sure appreciate professionally made pictures vs quick pics from a phone cam...

They may not be able to tell you one photo looks better because it was shot with an ISO that would yield less noise, it has perfect lighting, and a depth of field that accentuates the primary focus of the photo from the background... but they sure can tell a professional photo from one Uncle Bob shot with his point and shoot. Which one would you trust your big day photos with? It comes down to this: A slim chance of getting some frame worthy photos, or a VERY, VERY high chance of frame worthy photos of your wedding from someone who has photographed more weddings than most people will ever even attend in their lifetimes. Being in the right place at the right time, with the ability & equipment to capture "THE" moment is not a matter of luck 99% of the time at a wedding, it is a matter of knowledge and experience, which will yield a much better result than just technical specs will reveal.

And no I am not a professional photographer.

Because for most folks, their wedding is a pretty important day and they want quality photographs to help remember it.

Almost anybody can take decent photos these days but it takes a pro to take excellent ones in every type of circumstance.

There are a lot of things we don’t know about, details or otherwise, but we can appreciate the quality of the product. Or criticize it. This goes in virtually every product or service we utilize.

A lot of people can appreciate creative ideas too. Although, there is no guarantee that it requires a professional. And then, what is a professional? Could we deem a hobbyist a professional, if we pay for the services? I would say so.

You think just because a person isn't a photographer that they can't tell a good photo from a bad one?

Actually it's worse than that. You're saying that if they had knowledge of photography then they would go with a cheaper one. You are obviously trolling.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Have you read some of their other posts around the forums? All very, very odd. Like a 12 year old trying to sound profound.
