I was in a car accident on Tuesday, going home from work, rain started to pour as i was getting off the interstate. I hit something on a road and my car went sliding and flipped upside down in a curve. I was ok, but i couldn't get out of the seat belt, i smell gas fumes and tried to turn the car off, i couldn't pull keys from the ignition. Apparently, there was fire truck going down the road and they saw me, pretty much 5 min. after i flipped. They got me in their truck, took blood pressure, etc.. The only thing i could think of is my camera, i kept telling them to go in my car and get the damn camera out. They didn't want to come close to the car, as the gas was still leaking. I was pissed!! Anyway, they went and got my camera for me.
Finally insurance adjuster came out today and decided that car can't be fixed. Insurance giving me $3500.00 I'm happy about it, because this car worth no more then $1000.00. It seen better days, needed body work, etc. But it could run easily for another 5 years.
I must say this car served me very well for 12 years (yeah Toyota!), and i'm really sad that it ended that way.
Here are some pictures i took today from the towing yard.
Thank goodness you walked away. You know your a die hard photog when you get the firefighters to retrieve your camera! If your a scrapbooker, those photos and story would make an excellent page!
Glad you & the camera made it! Did anyone figure out what you hit?
Thanks Katie, no, but they figure it was tires, they were getting pretty bold, plus the rain. Oh well.
