Thank you. That shot was from about five feet. I could have gotten a little closer but I didn't want him to freak out and fly off.

Thanks, Blondie! Yes, it was shot with that camera. I have a few more I haven't posted yet. For me, shooting butterflies is a real challenge. Not only do they move almost constantly, but I can't get down at their level like some can. I was inside a "butterfly house," and I can tell you that it was more of a workout attempting to photograph them than it is when I go to the gym!

I've never seen one of these before but he was neat even though he didn't feel like keeping his wings open for any length of time.

I want to share something with you that a friend of mine who died 30 years ago once asked me.
Why do they call them Butterflys and not Flutterbys?
Even today, whenever I see one, it is a Flutterby to me.
