I'm an Aussie who's been living in the states for almost 10 years. USA has been a place for both spectacular and unusual sights.

Here are a few of the unusual sights I've encountered over the years.

This firs one was taken flying in a small plane at a few hundred feet above the Mojave Desert in California. It's an Aluvial Fan caused by rain runoff on the dry desert sand bed. Some of the trenches are feet deep.

Here is a spectacular sunrise taken in the Mojave Desert.

Lenticular Clouds at sunset - again in the Mojave Desert.

A desert dust storm.

Oh the poor thing. It looks like an armadillo. That would be a hard sight for me to get used to.

Welcome, Outback Annie. Your photos above are awesome. I especially like the first one and the approaching dust storm.

PhotogGal, thank you for the welcome. Have seen some of your photos and they are super.

Korel, you must be part Cajun. Isn't the outer shell a bit crunchy though?

Bulldawgfan, your armadillo looks dead but healthy. You don't see that around here, most of the time they are splattered like pancake....

Sorry for being graphic here.....

Great shots Annie, hope to see more from you!
