Actually when you see them alive in the ocean they are quite beautiful and their sting is not that bad. I've been stung hundreds of times, but unless you get a tentacle in your eyes, it's not serious. They sure messed up the fishing gear though.

True - they are beautiful with all the trailing stingy bits - but I run away when I see them! Got stung in Australia by a beast, now not v keen on any of 'em. Here's a nice friendly English jellyfish.
