The last pictures by Lusitano and Lamplight are just amazing, makes me realize how far I have to go.
I can't give you guys any more rep, have to spread it out some.
I touched a SLR for the first time about 4-5 months ago it's just a matter of understanding what the settings do, and practice so i can put the theory you know to practice.
Replying to someone who gave me a rep:
I didn't use any filters, although I ordered a ND filter this weekend, a 10 !!! stop filter... My mouth is watering just to think of using it.
I want to purchase a Polarizer as well somewhere down the road, but they run kind of expensive, and I am still deciding how to implement it into my system or else I may get vignetting on my pictures...

Personally for me, I love photography of people in their natural state as opposed to portraits. To me, catching them in the act so to say seems to add a more human touch to them. It's difficult for me to describe in words.
This is a 105mm howitzer fire mission at Fort Polk, LA back in June of 2012.

They bring it more to life with more story to tell instead of just looking at a face in a portrait for me. I really appreciate the ones you are sharing we never see anything like this on news channels.

Okay, if you didn't any any filters on that photo I asked about, how did you achieve that color? Was that the natural color of the sky at the time you took the photo, or did you achieve it in post-processing?
Really hard to believe, Lusitano, that you touched an SLR for the first time just a few months ago. You catch on quick!
