I have been getting into photography lately and found that it is a great hobby, but I don't know how to share my photos with all of you. I have my pictures stored on my computer, but for some reason it won't let me put my pictures on this website. I have tried the insert image icon on here and just copy and paste and I haven't been successful so far. My question is: For those of you who use Windows XP, how do you put your pictures on here?

Welcome!

Do you see the 'attachment' icon? It looks like a paper clip. You might have to go to 'advanced mode' to get that option.

When that comes up, you will see a 'browse' option for your image. You will need to search for your image on your computer. Once you find the file that you want to upload, click on the 'upload' button. It might take a while, you can see a histogram at the bottom if you enlarge your window.

The image will be loaded up to your CD account. When it has completed, you

Then you will see an image under 'current attachment'. If you click on the name of the attachment, the hyperlink, you will see a long url or link. You can copy the link and then paste it in the box when you pull down the 'insert image' icon (it looks like a picture of a mountain range).

Close the dialog box of the attachments and open the insert image box. Paste the url (link) into the address bar. Click enter after you are finished and the image should appear below.

Below is a picture I took while in St. Petersburg, Russia at the Hermitage Museum.

Enjoy!!!

As someone who lived in Lubbock growing up, welcome to City-Data Westerner92!! Nice picture!

I use imageshack to host my photos most of the time, but any photo hosting site will do or using City-Data's as George Chong suggested.

By the way, beautiful picture George!

Thanks! I got really lucky. I stayed behind after the tour group moved on to another section and snapped this photo.
