A friend of mine is moving and has a pet. He also has some credit problems and has a poor credit report. Can anyone make some suggestions for an apt complex that allows dogs and either doesn't look at credit. He has a vehicle and doesn't care where in the city or county the place is. He's been looking at craigslist a lot, but would like some other suggestions too. Thanks in advance!

it's going to be tough to find an apartment complex that doesn't check credit, let alone allows dogs. i'd go with a landlord who just has one or two properties, rather than a property management company. looking around for "for rent" signs is a good way to find landlords like that.

Craigslist ads are free. He should post an apt. wanted ad there explaining needing a dog friendly place. If he is likable it's better to explain the credit situation in person. A place like Wilkinsburg could work. He may get charged for a credit report that is never performed, yet be accepted.
