From your link:
Video captured on a bus camera shows DiDolce shoved rider John Donahue, 28, of Garfield before punching him seven times and kicking him six times in a span of 2 minutes, 20 seconds, authority police said. The authority did not release copies of the video.

How is this justified?

I can't believe that he is suspended with pay. He is going to need that money to pay his attorney. I would be shocked if he doesn't do some serious time. I hope he goes upstate for a few years.

um, it's on video, the guy was SLEEPING when the attack began. the police said he didn't attack the driver (as the driver claims) or even fight back.

just because some port authority riders are obnoxious doesn't mean this guy was. and really, being obnoxious or annoying doesn't justify assault.

Were I in the victim's shoes, that bus driver would have sprouted holes until such time as he ceased to be a threat. Self-defense is crucial, everyone should have the means to defend themselves.
