I've been putting off some maintenance on my pick up for about a year now...

for those that don't know, i just moved up here with my family from Arlington, TX about a year ago...just recently bought a house in Bridgeville.

can someone recommend a trustworthy mechanic in my area? i work in the Robinson area, where the big District Market is located, and that wouldn't be a bad area to find this mechanic as well.

i'de love to be able to say, "enter your name here" sent me and said you do good work...i had one of those guys back in TX and he was great, if he couldn't do the work, he knew of someone that could, and i would always say that he (my mechanic) sent me here...seems when they know their reputation is on the line, i get the best service.

if you'd rather PM me, that would be fine...thanks in advance!

Wish I could help. I don't know any in that area. I've been taking my car to a chain shop (Monro) up this way (the one I go to is in Cranberry) but ONLY because I've been dealing with the same manager for about a decade, and I trust him (and in turn the rest of the staff there) not to be telling me to do stuff I don't need. Prices at that kind of shop are probably more compared to a good independent with lower overhead, but that's what's working for me at the moment.

The only other one I know is one a coworker uses that would also be very inconvenient for you.

I'm interested in this as well if anyone has a suggestion. I live and work near Robinson and would love to find a good independent mechanic in that area.

I can't say I know of any mechanics out in that direction, which happens to be near where I live. I have always taken my car to Baum Blvd. Auto in the city and gotten excellent service. Its a little less convenient for me now that I live west but I still make the effort to get to them. They are located close to a stop on the Busway (Negley @ Centre) if that helps at all (you could take the 100 directly there from Carnegie after you drop off your car and to go pick it up) .

Check out Ghelarducci's on Baldwin Rd and McLaughlin Run is in Bridgeville. When I worked in the area we would take our vehicles there for service. Family owned shop, never had a problem with them.

Yeah, my moms car needs that, but they call them control arms & stabilizer links I think.
She had one estimate of $525 for repair, and of course avoided that dealership.
Going to get some other estimates and will post if any good ones are found.

Although not in your area, Transmissions by Lucille does all types of mechanical work. They're amazing.

They've actually not charged me for work they did because they failed to call me for permission.

That was without my even complaining. They stood by their quote and simply let me know the extra work that was done at no additional charge.
