Hi!

I'm moving out of the Burgh, but will still be here for almost 2 weeks after my rental lease expires. Any suggestions on safe/cheap extended stays/inns in the Squirrel Hill/Shadyside/North Oakland area? I work in Oakland and would like to get to work and back in the morning without having to cross a bridge, if that's even possible.

Any other suggestions- have people had luck with 'renting' places for a couple of weeks on Craigslist, etc? I'm trying to spend less than a thousand dollars if at all possible. Thanks!

The only extended stay that I know of is the Intown Suites on McKnight Rd near I-279 where the rates seem to be reasonable. The Oakland /Shadyside area always costs more than other areas because it's such a prime area.
Do you work for Univ of Pitt/UPMC ? They may have a board with housing posts-perhaps you could get a short term in student housing that is currently empty during the summer before fall semester starts.
