HI, Does anyone know anything about Pinewood Square townhouses on Penn Hills? The property is just off Universal Road on Frey Rd.

Overall Penn Hills is in a decline & it has quite a few bad parts, but this doesn't seem like one of them

Pinewood Square was almost literally in my backyard when I was younger. I knew a few punks who lived there.

Agree, it gets more crime-ridden every year. It's cheap, but is it worth it? Never.

I would not recommend living there. Pinewood Square looks nicely maintained, and it is close to the shopping center, but that area of Penn Hills off of Universal has always been a "shady" area. Also, right down the street from those townhomes are the Section 8 projects off of Stotler which are TERRIBLE. Half of them are boarded up, and the police are always called to that area.

When I was living in Penn Hills up until the end of the 1990's, that area was always sketchy. There are a lot of rental homes and duplexes in that area that for some reason attracted a rather undesirable crowd. Lots of drug dealing and domestic disturbances occurred.

For the price of Pinewood Square, I'd recommend renting a house. There are several homes for rent in Penn Hills in better, safer areas.
