i think you're right that this incident has nothing to do with the shadow lounge, but what do "occupy types" look like?

my dad supports occupy and he looks like a 63 year old dad, for example.

This is totally unscientific and there are probably better numbers somewhere, but based on two articles I found with about 5 minutes worth of research --

83 arrests during Pittsburgh G-20:
83 arrested at G-20 in Pittsburgh, $50,000 in damage | PennLive.com

100 arrests after Steelers win Superbowl in 2009 (this is article noting the calm after Superbowl loss last year):

I get that some people want to hold sports fans up as everything they don't like about "some people" but seriously, damage is damage, riots are riots, and police arrest people who damage and riot. Period. No one is giving anyone a "pass." It's not okay, no matter who does it. Period.

that 83 number was before 110 people were arrested in one night.

Hundreds Arrested In Oakland During G20 Summit | www.wpxi.com

and note: $50k in damage from the g20 protests, $20k attributed to 1 person. 200 arrests. $150k from the superbowl riots, 100 arrests.

Considering that there was a hip hop album release party on the lounge side and a party for well healed 30 somethings on the Ava side, it was not the organic looking crowd. I was actually being a bit condecending. Sorry!

The "Occupy" moniker doesn't necessary mean any particular point of view, that word can all be too easily used by any group that wants to call attention to itself, regardless of its intentions.

Here is one sentence from one of the leaflets:

"We choose a hostile takeover of the present, for the intimacy of having our bodies reverberate off one another in struggle for possibilities is the maximum essence of living."

UKYank, sorry but I have to point out that fotball supporters in england do occasionally cause riots (when they go to France or the french come to England for example). Not to mention the riots in paris not long ago. So it's not just in Pittsburgh.

Actually I was pointing out that the occasions of lawlessness in Pittsburgh following sporting events is far & few between compared to many other incidents you see in other cities. Compare penguins fans to canucks fans for example.
