If you buy a cigarette lighter and it does not light..It is not a cigarette lighter and you are entitled to a refund...immediately. If you rent a HOME..and it is no longer a home but a head ache..and you can not enjoy it..that it is potentially dangerous causing you undue worry and stress ...it is a health issue..Your mental well being is being taken away from you by the domestic environment ...You should not pay money to decrease your own health...Go get a report from an expert...saying that the place is making you sick...OR...just file against the landlord that he is NOT living up to his duties as a landlord...I know that in Canada...their are duties that belong to the tenant and duties that belong to the landllord...Just because you rent...does not mean you have no rights...You have bought your rights through rent...and if you are not getting your moneys worth...It is the duty of the landlord to make it right...if he does not...HE is in breach of the contract.

As I said in my original post, on the surface when we viewed the property things seemed better than they actually were. I will admit I should have done more research into the company. We are from out of the area and had only one weekend to find a place. The house itself looks nice, the apartment is big and at the time we viewed it was occupied. It was only when we got in that we discovered how filthy it was, and it was only upon use that we discovered how poorly things work.
