We've got central AC everywhere here in Atlanta, it gives me an excuse to sit around on my butt and watch sports all day and night

Our weather service in Pittsburgh is absolute garbage. They low balled the high for yesterday and today by almost 5 degrees and the entire metro should have had a heat advisory yesterday and today, not just the few southern counties like today. It got just as hot north of Pittsburgh yesterday and today. It shouldn't take a H.I. of 100 for a heat advisory in an area where it hasn't been this hot in 17 years.

My partner, who lives in Shadyside, has a pretty accurate thermometer, and he said it was 99 degrees there for a brief period today. Given that the 97-degree reading was taken at the airport I wouldn't be surprised if parts of the city proper DID hit 100 degrees today when factoring in the urban heat island effect. With actual air temperature readings in the upper-90s and heat indices in the low-100s I'm also surprised the National Weather Service didn't issue a heat advisory for the metro area, especially considering we're not accustomed to this heat here.

When I lived in NoVA it seems like we were under a heat advisory every time the temperature eclipsed 90 degrees (which was commonplace).

They've been extremely awful with this entire heat wave and warning people about how bad this heat actually is for people.

The Waterworks shopping plaza is in Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar, believe it or not.

Loving the heat. I was a little irritated waking up in my 85 degree apartment, but after a cool iced tea I felt great. I'd love an official 100 degree day sometime this summer.

Pittsburgh was just on the edge of the storm, and the northern/eastern parts just missed out.
