There are many ways.

One example: If Person A rapes Person B's daughter, I'm pretty sure a violent attack from B to A wouldn't paint Person A as innocent.

There is a difference between being cut off and someone's daughter being raped. Getting cut off will ruin your day and there is a risk of an accident(and if its a biker, the biker will also inherit that risk). Rape, on the other hand, is an act of physical violence involving sexual violation.

the victim is a friend of friends of mine and by all accounts he is about as far from a shady character as you can get.

that doesn't mean there isn't more to this story but it seems unlikely to me from what i know.

i can understand it being less disturbing when violence has an obvious cause though - totally random attacks (or attacks way out of proportion to something like cutting someone off in traffic) are much scarier than someone attacking someone they know, someone who burned them in a drug deal, a gang rival, etc. it's comforting to think stuff like that can't happen to you because YOU would never do x,y, or z that that person was doing. however, random attacks like that do happen.

it does seem like this guy is just guessing that maybe the person he cut off is who attacked him. he doesn't seem to know for sure. it may be even randomer than that.

Of course there is a difference.

I was simply answering the question "How is someone that gets VIOLENTLY attacked not innocent." and providing one example.

How do we know the cyclist did anything to cause this? I notice many people want to blame the cyclist for this.

I haven't read anybody blaming the cyclist.

Where did you notice this?

I merely added that the level of violation was not the same. That was merely my take on it.

Um, thanks? I think you may have answered the wrong post. I wasn't asking a question about logging out, but good to know!
