Journalists are lazy, lack creativity, and need to justify their existence, perhaps?

Spent 3 hours out in this thing, no problem, it's called snow tires.

I do wish people would TURN THEIR FRICKIN LIGHTS ON when you have the wipers on, it's called a law. And maybe don't ride a bumper when the streets are snow covered.

Well, that minor snowstorm has caused a ton of accidents, including in some major high traffic areas (like the Ft. Pitt Bridge). Traffic and car accidents are the bread and butter of local news. Sensationalism would be them talking up a big storm that didn't happen. It did happen, and people need their traffic reports. It's kind of the purpose of the local news.

My sister just sent me a picture of the "big" storm, I am not impressed, and if there are many accidents people need to learn to drive in the snow.

Another PLOW! I don't care what anyone says, but overall the city has done a fantastic job this season of clearing the roads! The notable exception would be the storm on December 26 when people were just sliding helplessly up and down the hills in Oakland.

Yeah the picture is of an inch or two of snow. What am I missing here? The reports are saying the roads are treacherous and all I see is a couple inches of snow.

Yeah, that's what I was doing. I totally signed up an anonymous account (presumably a second account) just to whine about someone on a forum who bothered me ever so much with his internet words. Goofy.

You're from Erie. You get an inch or two of snow seemingly everyday and take it in stride. Here in Pittsburgh we're now approaching three inches, and while that's not really "unusual" here we have a LOT of hilly streets where even snow tires won't necessarily save you should hit a patch of black ice.
