If they know the make and the license plate number of the getaway car, then it won't be long before the troglodytes get the punishment they deserve.

We've only heard 1 side of this story so far, there have been many reports of assaults or alleged hate crimes over the years where the initial report isn't as accurate as one would like.

Hopefully, witnesses come forward so the detectives can get to the bottom of it.

And what, if I may ask, are you implying might be at "the bottom of it"?

Remember. Does the witness KNOW the person attacked? We really need to get away from a trial via the web garbage. We need to know more facts prior to pointing fingers. From what I saw it is sick, but did something else really happen? Hard to say at this point. If it went down as reported, it is pretty sick. It is also a little hard to believe to be honest. Pittsburgh in general is pretty laid back.

Not that hard to believe. Random acts of violence are relatively rare in this town, but they do happen. A LGBT couple (I forget if they were male or female) were assaulted in Bloomfield a summer or two ago. It's good that incidents like this are so few and far between, but it's still a shame that they happen at all.

And I really doubt there's anything more to it than "three drunk meatheads couldn't get laid on a Saturday night so they decided to beat up some random queers." Those dingbats are just lucky they made it out of there before all the patrons of Blue Moon AND Remedy had the chance to put them in their place.

That's what makes me scratch my head a bit.

How would they have known, just driving by, that these guys were gay- unless they knew of the gay bars on the block?

And if they knew that, picking on someone in front of an establishment filled with guys who are drinking is very foolhardy in Pittsburgh where every 3rd person is carrying a firearm.

They probably had no idea Blue Moon was a gay bar, or that Remedy, like every bar in LV, is "bi-friendly."

It sounds, to me at least, like a random act of violence against a gay couple.

This is one reason why I am not yet sold on Lawrenceville as a lot of other people. Yes I understand that this could happen anywhere and yes I understand that Lawrenceville has come a long way in the last decade. Having said that, the neighborhood still has a lot of grit and idiots with a 1950s mentality like they are The Lord's of Flatbush. That mentality does not take to kindly to a "bunch of fudge packers invading our turf." It is sad to see in 2013.
